Susan Marie Breaux was one of six children born to the late Oswald J. and Bonnie Ardoin. She was born November 29, 1947 and was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles, the city she loved.
She was a graduate of LaGrange High School and met her husband T-Boy (Clifton) Breaux, Jr. when they were teenagers. The story goes T-Boy’s dance moves on a local dance floor caught Sue’s eye; she asked him to dance, and they waltzed and two-stepped into a lifelong partnership. She and T-Boy raised their family centered on faith, education, and laughter. She was a member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven and a past member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.
Sue was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend whose joy and warmth was felt by all who knew her. Entertaining and hosting were common in the Breaux household, paired with the family recipe of games, music, and laughter. There was always a pot of rice on the counter and a home-cooked meal on the stove. No matter who you were, Sue greeted all guests when they entered her home with, “What you wanna eat?!”
Sue loved her life in Lake Charles and found joy in her many hobbies and interests. She enjoyed gardening and growing fruits and vegetables, including figs, which she canned and gave away for others to enjoy. Sue was always curious to learn new things, and enjoyed careers in cosmetology, photography, and even bus driving. To relax, Sue loved sitting on the porch of the family camp at Bundicks Lake with a cup of coffee, watching the hummingbirds stop by for something sweet to drink. The camp is where Sue and her family made many fond memories, with hours spent fishing and checking trout lines, and playing board games and cards. Most recently for fun, Sue loved playing cards with her booray buddies.
She was welcomed into Heaven on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 by her beloved husband of fifty-three years, Clifton “T-Boy” Breaux, Jr.; parents, Oswald J. and Bonnie Ardoin; and siblings, Jeff Ardoin, Gale Ardoin, and Floyd Ardoin.
