Suzanne "Suzie" Richard

Suzanne “Suzie” Spencer Richard, 65, of Lake Charles passed away at 5:47 PM on Wednesday, October 12, 2022 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Richard was born on March 24, 1957 in Elyria, OH where she resided until moving to Lake Charles in 1981 where she met her husband.  She worked as a warranty clerk for Collins Toyota, Lake Charles Dodge, and Lake Charles Diesel for many years and also ran the family business, Richard’s Hardware in Deridder.  Mrs. Richard was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. 

She had many hobbies including sewing, arts and crafts, and reading. Her greatest joy in life was being a mother and grandmother who spoiled her kids and grandkids. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 40 years, Stephen Richard of Lake Charles; sons, Stevie Richard (Mandy) of Sulphur and Shelby Richard (Kaytlyn) of Pollock, LA; siblings, Nancy Nickel (Jeff) of Morse, LA and Theresa Buford (Larry) of Taylor, Arkansas; nephew, Dustin Guidry of Hackberry, LA; and her beloved grandchildren, Zoey, Caleb, and Jacob Richard. 

Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home (Lake Street in Lake Charles) beginning on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until leaving for the church at 10:30 AM. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at St. Margaret Catholic Church.  Fr. Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM in Beauregard Cemetery in Deridder under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.
