Sybil Dallas

Sybil Dallas, 77, of Lake Charles died Friday December 24, 2010 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family.

Sybil was born September 4, 1933 in Grand Chenier, where she was raised and educated. She moved to Lake Charles after meeting the love of her life, Arthur Dallas, Jr. Together they spent thirty six wonderful years of their lives with one another before his death in 1993. She took great pride in being a wife, mother, grandmother, and just a month ago, being a great grandmother. She was always looking out for others and made it a point to cook each Monday evening for her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards and reading books.

Preceding Sybil in death were her parents, John and Telicia Montie Thibodeaux; brother, Adam Thibodeaux and beloved husband, Arthur Dallas, Jr. Those left to cherish and honor her memory are two sons, Raymond Dallas and wife Tina and Anthony Dallas and wife Debbie, both of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Stacey Montou and husband Nick, Dana Dallas, Brooks Dallas, Krystin Deshotel, Josh Dallas, Cody Deshotel, Caitlin Dallas and Marie Dallas; one great grandchild, Noah Dallas; sister, Leona Reed and husband Aubrey, of Lake Charles; sister-in-law, Mable Thibodeaux, of Lake Charles; nieces, Joan Camp and husband John, Brenda Roberts, and Marlene Rolfson and husband Chris.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Johnson Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM Thursday at the funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 PM Thursday from Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church with Father Nathan Long officiating. Burial will follow at Consolota Cemetery.
