Sybil Marie Miller of Sulphur, Louisiana passed away at her home on the afternoon of July 30, 2013 after a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her family and her ever faithful husband Tally John Miller. Mrs. Miller was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was born in Rayne, La on April 30, 1940. She married her sweetheart, Tally in 1958 and began raising her family. She worked at numerous positions including working for Mary Kay cosmetics and Tupperware Co. as a district sales manager during the 1970s. She loved to be around her family and friends and was known for her excellent culinary skills. She also loved music and was involved with singing and playing Cajun music with her husband Tally as members of the Marshland Cajun Band. They traveled around the state playing Cajun music and also toured in Europe as part of the Music Festival International. She was also nominated as the 2005 Le Cajun Awards, Best Female Artist by the Local Chapter for the Cajun French Music Association in Lake Charles, La. Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband of 55 years Tally John Miller of Sulphur; son, Jody D. Miller and daughter-in-law, Wendy of Westlake; daughter, Christine K. Miller of Humble, TX, and son, Jason T. Miller and daughter-in-law, Amy of Sulphur. Mrs. Miller also had seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Lyle Miller of Sulphur; her parents, Etienne and Bertile Kibodeaux of Rayne, LA; and her brother, Russel Kibodeaux of Rayne, LA. The family would like to thank all those who cared for Mrs. Miller, including the staff of the Southern Care hospice and the volunteers who cared for her in her time of need. The family wishes to give special thanks to Lashonda and Katie for their care and love given to Sybil. Their hours of dedication and service were invaluable to Sybil and to the family. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 2-8p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home at 10a.m. with Rev. Charles Winstead officiating. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines Cemetery in Carlyss under the direction of Johnson and Robison Funeral Home.
