Sylvia Marie Thomas, 86, left this world to be with her Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ receiving her Crown of Life on September 8, 2022. She died peaceably surrounded by her children. Sylvia was born to Mr. and Mrs. Dominic Guillory of Mowata, Louisiana. Being the youngest of ten children, she was preceded in death by her siblings, her parents, Beloved grandson Brennan Thomas and late husband Edgar F. Thomas Jr. Sylvia is Survived by her children, Linda Rausch (Michael), Frank Thomas (Angie), Amanda McPherson (Allyn) and David Thomas (Becky)
Surviving Grandchildren include Jana Dixon, Mitchell Paul Rausch (Lacey), Ashley Hoffpauir (Kristopher), Emilie Hollier (Bryan), Ethan McPherson Justin Harrington (Chelsey), Aubron Thomas (Fiancé Jordyn), Taylor Harrington, and Brayden Thomas
Surviving Great-Grand Children are Loren, Jude, Carson, Kadie, Cohen, Graham, Pierce, Leo, Clevin, Paisley, and Hagen
Sylvia Marie Thomas has resided most of her adult life in Sulphur. She has been an active and faithful member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church, Sulphur, Louisiana for the past 45 years. Having had a great passion for the work of God and love for the Upton ministry. Over the past several years, her work in the church has been that of teaching bible studies, having a consistent and fervent prayer life, touching many through her personal testimony.
Sylvia Loved animals and had recently lost her beloved dogs, Popeye and Kay-Kay. She also had a love for plants and took care of them into her 80s. Near to her heart were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Family was her utmost importance to her. She was always interested in what and how everyone was doing.
II Timothy 4:7 says it best concerning our mother, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. Though she will be deeply missed, we will carry the torch imparted unto us.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 16th, 2022, from 5-9 p.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home, Sulphur, Louisiana.
Funeral service will be held Saturday September 17, 2022, at 10 a.m. At the Lighthouse Tabernacle, Sulphur La with early visitation at 9 a.m., Pastor Allan Upton presiding. Following the funeral service Sylvia Marie Thomas will be laid to rest at Mimosa Pines South, Sulphur, Reverend S. Scott Wilson will Speak, and Pastor Allan Paul Upton will pray the closing prayer.
