T. Louise Bordelon

June 2, 1929 — September 22, 2023

T. Louise Bordelon, 94, passed away on September 22, 2023 in a Lake Charles assisted living facility. She was born on June 2, 1929, in Church Point, Louisiana, to Leo and Onesia Prather Daigle.

Louise lived a full and fun life. She enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing, crabbing and making puzzles. She and her husband, Alvin shared many adventurous years traveling the country in their camper. At home, she had a remarkable tin can collection of over 2,500 cans which was featured 3 times on KPLC’s Louisiana Traveler with John Bridges. She was a proud, long-time member of the VFW Auxiliary and the Catholic Daughters of America.

Her large circle of family and friends loved attending gatherings she held. She was a fantastic hostess, cook, and baker, and friend to anyone who walked through her door. Skilled at crocheting and sewing, she’d make blankets and clothes for her loved ones. Louise’s generosity extended to everyone. She always quickly jumped in to lend a hand when someone needed help or simply someone to share a cup of coffee with. Louise was an incredible and valued mom, grandma, and friend. We treasured our time with her greatly and will all miss her tremendously.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister Rose Menou, son Donald Bordelon (Lisa), daughter Brenda Mueller (Don), daughter in law Pattie Jean Bordelon, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Alvin, sons Glenn, Kenneth, and Daniel and four siblings.

Her funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 in the Johnson Funeral Home of Lake Charles Chapel. Deacon Harold Nixon will preside. Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday and will continue until the start of the service at 1:00 PM.

The family would like to give special thanks to Villa Maria’s staff for 6 ½ years of care, Tasha Coston for taking such amazing care of mom for 2 ½ years, St. Joseph’s Hospice for 3 years of service, and Sage Oaks for the last 7 months of great care.
