Tallulah Newman, 58, of Lake Charles passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 in the comfort of her home.
Ms. Newman was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles.
She never had children of her own but treated her nieces and nephews as they were her own. She was also an avid supporter of St. Jude and Save the Children. Ms. Newman was a prayer warrior and worshipper and active member of Living Way Pentecostal Church. She was a loving, caring, person always helping others and encouraging them in telling them about the Lord and all His goodness. She will be remembered as a beautiful person inside and out.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three sisters, Pearl Richard and husband Jerry, Annie Butterfield and Gilda Herring and husband Drew and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves many friends and her best friend, Debbie Carroll.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gloria Mae Newman, Gilbert Newman and Edward Newman, Jr. She is also preceded by half brothers, Marion and Jesse and half sisters, Hazel and Elsie Sonnier.
Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday August 27 at Johnson Funeral Home and will continue on Monday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Living Way Pentecostal Church in Lake Charles. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 AM at the church with Rev. Glenn Massey and Bishop Charles Nugent officiating. Burial will follow at New Ritchie Cemetery in Moss Bluff.
