Tammy Schexnider Guidry

Tammy Susan Schexnider Guidry, 61, of Lake Charles, passed away at 6:14 PM on Thursday, December 29, 2022 in a local hospital.

Tammy was born January 30, 1961 in Lake Charles, LA, where she has been a lifelong resident.  During her early years, she enjoyed dance and gymnastics and was a 1979 graduate of Barbe High School.  She worked as the office manager for various offices throughout the years, including Dr. Kenneth Parks, Dr. Ted Bercier, Dr. Lynn Foret for over ten years, Medical Technologies and the Center for Orthopedics.  For the past ten years, she worked for Paramount at Stonebridge Place Assisted Living as the Regional Director of Operations.  Tammy was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.  She loved spending time outdoors, going to her camp at Toledo Bend, loved cooking and hosting gatherings for her family and friends and cherished every minute she spent with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Guidry is survived by her husband of forty years, Leonard Guidry of Lake Charles; son, Clayton “Clayboy” Guidry (Brandi) of Lake Charles; daugthers, Alexis Fulmer (Gerrod) of Ragley and Brooke Guidry of Lake Charles; mother, Earline Schexnider of Lake Charles; father-in-law, E. T. Guidry of Lake Charles; brother, Darrell Schexnider (Joan) of California; brothers and sister-in-law, whom she loved like her own, Russell Guidry of Lake Charles, Warren Guidry of Port Neches, TX, Quintin Guidry (Dawn) of Fannett, TX, and Allison Dobson (fiancé, Chad Armentor) of Lake Charles; her beloved grandchildren, Hadley Lynn Guidry, Kallie LeJeune, and Ella Fulmer; along with numerous other family members and friends that she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Whitney Schexnider; mother-in-law, Alice Matte Guidry; brother, Robert Schexnider; infant sister, Donna Gail Schexnider; and brother-in-law, Tommy Guidry.

Her funeral will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Prien Memorial Park.  Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home on Thursday from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, with a rosary at 12:00 PM.
