Tan Lin, 94, died on Friday, December 20, 2013 in Lake Charles, LA. Born on September 22, 1919, in Taipei Hsien, Taiwan, Mrs. Tan Lin was the youngest of 8 children. She was unconditionally loved and supported by her parents and 7 older brothers. She finished a two-year college before being married to Ming-Hui Lin, MD. They lived in Keelung, Taiwan where he practiced pediatrics and internal medicine. She came to the United States in 1978 to be closer to her children. She lived in Atlanta, GA with her daughter, before she moved to Lake Charles in June 2013. She loved to travel, watch Atlanta Braves Baseball, design clothes, garden and spend time with her extended family. Mrs. Tan Lin is survived by her children: Amy Huang and husband Andy of Spring, TX, Dou-Meei "Tammy" Yang and husband John of Stone Mountain, GA, Chih-Heng "Albert" Lin and wife Yueh-Lee "Tracy" of Chandler, AZ, Chih Hao Lin, MD and wife Fangtze "Julia" of Lake Charles, and Yun Mei Lin and husband Cheng-Hsiang Tsai of Taipei, Taiwan. She is also survived by son-in-law, Nai C. Cheng of Citrus Height, CA; sixteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Marianne Chin-Mei Cheng. She will be returned home to Taiwan to be buried with her husband.
