Taylor Austin Gaskin

Taylor Austin Gaskin, 28, of Lake Charles, LA, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 in a local hospital.

Taylor was born June 5, 1993 in Lake Charles, LA.  He started school in Westlake, LA, and then moved to Lake Charles, were he graduated from Barbe High School in 2011.  He attended Sowela Technical School, where he earned his electrical apprenticeship and went on to work for the local.  Taylor accomplished a lot in his young years, beginning as a chauffeur for Yellow Cab, but received too many tickets.  He began his electrical career at Sulphur Electric, ISC, MMR, Phenix Electrical and most recently as an electrician for Lee Mallett, whom he loved and looked up to.  He was a jack of all trades and previously worked as a certified life insurance agent.  Taylor was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.  He will be remembered for his kind heart, his ability to light up a room when he walked in and he always looked for the good in others.

Taylor is survived by his children, Alexander Czaar Gaskin and Addilynn Michelle Gaskin; mother, Debbie Wyman Gaspard and husband Tom; father, Terry Glenn Gaskin and fiancée Tina Pardo; sister, Courtney Lynn Meche Allee and husband Jared; step-brother, Thad Gaspard and wife Camy; grandparents, Donald and Linda Wyman and Granny Mae Rollins; his beloved dogs, Chase and Peaches; along with numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Terrell and Glynnis Ruth Gaskin; mother-in-law, Bridget Duplantis Bass; and cousin, Jacob Brady.

His memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, December 31, 2021 at Johnson Funeral Home of Moss Bluff.  A gathering of family members and friends will be on Friday at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
