Tc Hicks

T C Hicks, 80, of Lake Charles, died at his residence on Sunday November 3, 2013. T C was a native of Leesville and a longtime resident of Lake Charles. Following his college graduation, T C honorably served our country in the United States Army. He worked at Conoco for many years before working for the Internal Revenue Service, from which he retired from after 35 years of service. He was a hardworking, devoted and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend who enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family and friends. He was a Christian by faith and, following the devastation of Hurricane Rita, he spent many weeks helping in rebuilding his church home, Big Lake Gospel Tabernacle. Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his loving wife of 35 years, Janet Hicks, Lake Charles; two daughters, Darlene White and husband, Wendell and Wanda Morris and husband Charles; both of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Wendy McCown and husband Gareth, Katie Snow and husband Eric, Lacie Savoie and husband Kyle, Lensi White, Erin Morris, James Morris, Holly Miller and husband Albert, Joseph Morris, Michael Morris, Kirstie Morris, Aleis Henry and Kade Henry; eight great grandchildren; brother, J.L. Hicks and wife, Helen, New Llano; and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Joe Henry and a brother, Russell Hicks. Visitation will be on Wednesday November 6, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home. Service will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Garry Mann officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow service at Prien Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made in his memory to Big Lake Gospel Tabernacle, 10430 Hwy 384, Lake Charles, LA 70607.
