Ted Anthony Gauthreaux, a beloved husband, father, and community member, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his dear family. He was born on November 1, 1933, to Lee Henry Gauthreaux and Lucia Marie Gauthreaux in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Ted was a skilled carpenter and home builder by trade, contributing to the development of many homes in Lake Charles. His dedication to his craft was evident in his membership of the local Carpenter's Union. Beyond his work, Ted was an avid outdoorsman whose greatest times were spent camping. He also loved hunting and fishing.
Ted was also known for his ability to cook, especially his gumbo, which earned him a few awards over the years.
A devout and faithful member of The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Lake Charles, Ted's faith was a cornerstone of his life. Despite his many accomplishments, Ted considered his greatest treasure to be his family.
He leaves to honor and cherish his memory his wife of 65 years, Debbie Burleigh Gauthreaux; children, David Gauthreaux and wife Daphne of Sulphur, and Linda Boudreaux and husband Craig of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Kasey Boudreaux of Youngsville, Kristen Boudreaux of Lake Charles, Terra Jones and husband Wesley of Westlake, and Phillip Gauthreaux and wife Kayla of Houston; great-grandchildren, Kayden Boudreaux and Mia Jones; brother, Leroy Gauthreaux of Gretna, Louisiana; and brother-in-law, Howard Percle of Lake Charles.
