Ted "Theodore" Whitson

Theodore E. Whitson, 65, of Gillis, Louisiana died at 11:14 AM Wednesday, May 18, 2016 in a local hospital with his loving family at his side.

Mr. Whitson was born on November 25, 1950 in Fort Worth, Texas to the parents of Edwin and Hattie Whitson.  Ted was a 1970 Graduate of Sulphur High School.  He had recently lived in Gillis for the past 38 years. Mr. Whitson worked for Turner Industries as a Journeyman for the past 45 years. He was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church. In his spare time he loved to travel and camping.

He is survived by his wife of two years, Mrs. Debra White Whitson of Gillis, Louisiana; one son, Michael Paul Whitson of Gillis, Louisiana; one daughter, Angela Smith of and her husband Daniel of Fort Polk, Louisiana; one brother, David Whitson of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Pricilla DiLorenzo and her husband Steve of Amite, LA and Alice Regan of Baton Rouge, LA; his father. Edwin Whitson of Amite, LA, as well as four grandchildren, Dakota Smith, Alexis Smith, Kaitlyn Smith, and Jacob Smith.

Mr. Whitson’s funeral service will take place at Johnson Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 23, 2016. Monsignor Charles Dubois will officiate Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM in the funeral Home until the time of service.
