Teresa Beck Ledoux

December 4, 1954 — October 22, 2019

Teresa Beck LeDoux was born in Atlanta, GA to Barbara and Harold Beck on December 4, 1954.  From there the winds would take her on far flung adventures; the likes from which timeless Hollywood movies have been made.

Teresa was a free and fierce spirit from a young age.  Overcoming a rather turbulent childhood she chose to hit the road and hitchhike across America with her life-long best friend and soul-sister, Patti Carrell.  The two made their way across the country and eventually found themselves in Lake Charles, LA where she would meet the love of her life, David Joshlin, Jr.  She and David settled down in Westlake, LA, where they married and raised their only son, Jack Joshlin.

Her nieces and nephews adored her.  The children of the neighborhood know Teresa well, and most of them considered her to be their second mother.  Her door was always open to them and she would not turn them away.  Nothing pleased her more than to feed a group of clamoring teenagers.

In the later years she gained a daughter-in-law and wore the esteemed title of “Granny”.  She often said her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents, her soul-sister, and her former husband David Joshlin, Jr.

She is survived by her son Jack Joshlin and wife Corina of Sulphur, LA, 2 grandsons, Peyton and Jowan Joshlin of Sulphur, LA, sister Sharon Singleton of Willis, TX, nieces and nephews residing from Georgia to Texas and a host of honorary children spreading across the country.

The family will host a memorial service at a later date to celebrate the life and adventures of the “Georgia Gypsy”.
