Thelma Charpentier

Thelma Dianne Book Charpentier, 65, of Westlake, LA died at 6:20 AM on Saturday, October 27, 2012 in a local care facility.

Mrs. Charpentier was born January 17, 1947 in Ferriday, LA and has lived in Westlake, LA for the past thirty years. She worked as a nurse's aide in Cameron and was a member of the Pentecostals of Westlake. She loved cooking and sewing. She was always willing to help others and never met a stranger.

Mrs. Charpentier is survived by her husband of forty-years, Ray Joseph Charpentier, Sr.; son, Mark A. Charpentier and wife Melissa of Westlake, LA; step-sons, Ray J. Charpentier, Jr. of Morgan City and Travis Charpentier and wife Carrol of Baldwin, LA; son in her heart, Aaron Bird and wife Christi of Westlake; daughters, Kay Johns and husband Mike of Sulphur and Karen Hancock and husband Allen of Sahuarita, AZ; brother, James Book of Houston; half-brother, Richard Hudson of Westlake, LA; sisters, Shirley Harris of Jonesville, LA and Cecile Davidon of Jonesville, LA; 26 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Boykin.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Monday, October 29, 2012 at the Pentecostals of Westlake under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Brother Kenneth Pate will officiate. Burial will follow in Westlake Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
