Thelma Griffith Jinks June 28, 1913 " Jan. 8, 2012 Thelma Griffith Jinks of Johnson Bayou, La. left this world to join her Heavenly Father on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012 at 3:45 a.m. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Oreallye Griffith, brother Henry Griffith, husband Roland Jinks, daughter Elsie Jinks Erbelding, son Carl Jinks and grandson Blaine Erbelding. She is survived by her daughter Helen Jinks Packard of Lafayette, La.; her sister Rosalea Griffith Alford of Florien, La.; and her brother Walter (Billy) Griffith of Carlyss, La., as well as 10 grandchildren: Dwight Erbelding of Johnson Bayou; Pat Jones of Evadale, Texas; Wallace Erbelding of Carlyss, La.; Debbie Partin of Vidor, Texas; Brent Jinks of Vidor, Texas; Carroll Jinks of Vidor, Texas; Jennifer Glover of Vidor, Texas; Christopher Packard of El Lago, Texas; Jason Packard of Lafayette, La.; Nicole Core of Lafayette, La., and 22 great-grandchildren. She will be remembered for her devotion and love for her church, where she taught Sunday and Vacation Bible school for many years. She enjoyed reading and tending to her flowers and vegetable gardens. Her family would like to especially thank Helen Doucet and Nicole Clark for their loving and wonderful care during her last days. Visitation services will be held on Tues., Jan. 10 from 1-9 p.m. at Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur. Funeral services will be held on Wed., Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. at Robison Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Gandy officiating. Burial will be in Head of the Hollow Cemetery in Johnson Bayou, La.
