Thelma Jean Raduenz

Thelma Jean Raduenz, 76, of Welsh, LA died at 5:50 PM on Monday, February 21, 2011 in a Mamou.


Mrs. Raduenz was born January 18, 1935 in Thornwell, LA. She enjoyed ceramics, quilting, crocheting, and cooking and during her earlier years, she enjoyed shrimping. She owned and operated her own ceramic shop, "Family Slip Pit" and worked ten years as a dental technician outside her home. She was an avid reader and backgammon and pinochle player.


Mrs. Raduenz is survived by her children, Dennis Lanthier and wife Sharon of Sulphur, Faye Perron and husband Derrell of Mamou, Jodie Saunders and husband Bill of Cheyenne, WY, Dwain Raduenz and wife Karen of Moss Bluff, and Carol Campbell and fiance' Michael Self of Atlanta Georgia; brothers, Joseph Comeaux and wife Sandra of Moss Bluff and Perry Comeaux and wife Cookie of Roanoke; sisters, Helen Richard of Baton Rouge, Dianne Reeves and husband John of Hathaway, and Denise Fruge and husband Brent of Baton Rouge; twelve grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.


Mrs. Raduenz was preceded in death by three husbands, Joseph Lanthier, Vernon "Andy" Raduenz, and Curtis Manuel; parents, Duval and Orvilla Dupont Comeaux; brother, Ray Comeaux; sister, Claudia Comeaux; two grandchildren, Dale Bruney and Heidi Raduenz; and one great-grandchild, Chloe Lanthier.


Her funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 25, 2011 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Charles. Reverend Chris Fusilier will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
