Thelma Mae Boudreaux Bernard, 79, of Lake Charles died Sunday, July 3, 2011 in the comfort of her home.
Mrs. Bernard was born, raised, and educated in Youngsville, LA and has lived forty years in Lake Charles. During the early 1950's, she worked as a Procurement Officer for the US Government at Patrick Air Force Base in FL. She held a number of responsibilities , including requisitioning Top Secret orders for Rocket Fuel. Mrs. Bernard enjoyed "fill-in puzzles", crafts, sewing and flower gardening. She also enjoyed listening to gospel music and was of Catholic faith.
Mrs. Bernard will be most remembered as a kind, loving, and giving spirit with a "witty" sense of humor.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Kris Simon and husband Joe of Moss Bluff; two sons, Daniel Bernard and wife Christie of Abbeville and Francis Bernard and wife Heather of Moss Bluff; five grandchildren, Josh Simon, Mark Simon, Celina Vincent, Ben Bernard and Elizabeth Bernard and four great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty- one years, Leonard Bernard; two sisters, Jeanne Duhon and Malvina Castex and two brothers, Wesley and Wagner Boudreaux.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 9, 2011 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Mark Melancon will officiate. Visitation Saturday will be from 9:00 AM until the time of service in the funeral home.
