Thelma Primeaux Guillory

Thelma Mae Primeaux Guillory, 96, of Lake Charles passed away at 7:37 AM on Thursday, January 5, 2023 in the comfort of her home.

Mrs. Guillory was born on June 10, 1927 in Cameron and was a graduate of Creole High School before moving to Lake Charles in 1946. Mrs. Guillory and Albert Guillory got married in Eunice, Louisiana in St. Anthony Catholic Church. She volunteered her time as a candy striper at Christus St. Patrick Hospital and at St. Margaret Catholic Church doing clerical business.  She was a devout Catholic and was a dedicated member of St. Margaret Catholic Church where she belonged to the Ladies Altar Society and was a Catholic Daughter. 

Mrs. Thelma loved to listen to music and dance, as she competed, and won, numerous dance competitions on a fun and exciting dance team.  In her spare time, she took pleasure in making an abundance of ceramics and baby dolls. 

Those left to cherish her memory are a son, Craig Guillory (Lynn) of Creole; a daughter, Theresa Kay Ray Jasper (Moroni) of Mauriceville, TX; her companion, Benny Bourg of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Stewart Ray (Nicole), Jeffery Ray, Kimberly Mahon, Charles McKinney, Renee Guillory, Matthew Guillory, Clint Guillory (Stacie), and Recia Guillory; and sixteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Theresa and Nasta Primeaux; husband, Albert Guillory; grandchildren, Christopher Ray and Kylah Mahon; brothers, Huey and Elmer Primeaux (Sonny Boy); and son in law, Dwain Ray.

A funeral will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at St. Margaret Catholic Church.  Deacon Anthony Pousson will officiate.  Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.   Visitation will begin in the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 5:30 PM.  Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until leaving for the church at 11:30 AM.

Pallbearers will be:  Stewart Ray, Jeffery Ray, Dawson Mancil, Davin Ray, Charles McKinney Guillory, Matthew Guillory, Clint Guillory and Shaun Guillory.  Honorary pallbearers will be:  Benny Bourg, Craig Guillory, Moroni Jasper, Joseph Hansen, James Rohrer, Leon Collins, and Steven Cryprien.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you for the care and compassion given to Mrs. Guillory by the staff of Brighton Bridge Hospice, You Got Care, and to special caregivers Ann, Crystle, Paula and Krystal.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made toward a recovery fund in the name of Craig Guillory.
