Theresa Carrier Rougeau

Theresa Gertrude Carrier Rougeau, 86, of Lake Charles passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020 in a healthcare center in Missouri City, TX.

Mrs. Rougeau was born in Church Point, LA and has lived most of her life in Lake Charles.  During her younger years, she worked in hospitality and sales with her position at Standard’s Children’s Apparel being among one of her favorite jobs.  She later went back to school to attain her license as a Registered Dietician.  She was a talented cook, making extraordinary dishes such as shrimp étouffée, homemade banana pudding, cream cheesecake and her fried pork chops.  She was a lady of many graces and influence- from floral arranging, her sense of >

Mrs. Rougeau's greatest gift was her love of the Lord and teaching her children and then they, their children, about Jesus and the power of faith and prayer.

She leaves to cherish her memory, six children, Charlotte Gail Rougeau, Janis Kay Rougeau, Elaine Claire Rougeau, Oris “Chet” Rougeau, David Truette Rougeau and Sean Eric Rougeau; ten grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oris Rougeau; daughter, Barbara Rougeau LeJeune; grandson, Christopher Rougeau; parents, Frank and Beatrice Jordan Carrier; sisters, Alvina Morrow, Alberta Hooper and brother, Frank Carrier, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at St. Margaret Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in Consolata Cemetery.

In compliance with the current COVID 19 order, we respectfully request gatherings are limited and all attendants wear face masks.
