Theresa Lynn Day

Theresa Lynn Day, born February 9, 1961, left her temporary home to reside eternally pain free on December 3, 2020.  She was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles and graduated from LaGrange High.  She went on to earn her secretarial degree from Clarke Community College.

Theresa’s true passion and life devotions were in the childcare field.  She was the nursery attendant in her home church of Emmanuel Baptist for over 20 years, while also pouring her love into all whom she cared for at Tiny Steps Day Care (King’s Mini School) for over 25 years.  She also loved taking care of her plants, working puzzles, and playing with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Nicole Harrell and husband Tim of Moss Bluff, and Cassandra Randolph and husband Leonard of Lake Charles; her mother, Evelyn Day; her grandmother, Minnie Tilley; two brothers, Patrick Day and John Day and wife Melissa; 7 grandchildren, Madison, Jacob, Julie, Bryce, Tre, Londynn, and Lyrah; one great granddaughter, Violet; and a host of extended family, friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Theresa was preceded in death by her father, John Day, and her grandfather, Clyde Tilley, and twin grandbabies, Devin and Brooklyn.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at University Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Shamblin officiating.  Visitation will begin at 10:00 am under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
