Theresa Smith, 88, of Moss Bluff passed away at 8:35 AM on Friday, June 30, 2017 in her residence.
Mrs. Smith was born on October 6, 1928 in Rayne, LA and was raised in Crowley before moving to Lake Charles in the 1950’s. She moved to Moss Bluff in 1998 where she was a member of First Baptist Church of Moss Bluff and was involved in the Faith Sunday school class.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed cooking for her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Celina Ann Yentzen (Robert “Bill”) of Moss Bluff; two sons, Douglas Smith, Jr. (Margaret) of Gillis and Denis James Smith of Sulphur; seven grandchildren, Ronald and Russell Yentzen, Jaclyn Smith Spillars, Kayla Smith Rogers, Rachelle Guidry, Cheryl Humphries, and James Michael Smith; seventeen great grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Smith, Sr.; her parents, Marie and Joseph Dubois; and three sisters, Emily Lormand, Rosalie Cormier, and Ida Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 9, 2017 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. James Rivers will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and continue until the start of the service.
