Thomas Ray "Tommy" Veillon, 52, of Lake Charles died at 4:00 PM on Sunday, August 28, 2011 in a local hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Veillon was born on February 20, 1959 in Opelousas, LA and lived in Lake Charles since 1970. He attended Lake Charles High School. In his earlier years, he worked for Southland Corporation as a refrigeration mechanic for 10 years.
He enjoyed the outdoors where he could fish and spend time at "the camp" on Ouiska Chitto. Mr. Veillon loved to cook and enjoyed listening to Cajun music. His greatest joy was spending time with friends and family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Marisa Veillon and her mother, Monica Veillon both of Lake Charles; five brothers, Joseph of Kinder, twin brother, Donald and wife Kathy of Westlake, James and wife Dimples of Westlake, Ted and wife Suzy of Lake Charles, and David and wife Marie of Lake Charles; two sisters, Jeanne Pugh and Denise Veillon both of Lake Charles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce and Joseph Veillon and an infant sister, Annette Veillon.
Visiting hours will be from 10:00 AM until 7:30 PM on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 in Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary and scripture service will be held at 6:00 PM with Deacon Fred Reed conducting.
The family would like to give a special thanks to his twin brother and wife, Donald and Kathy Veillon and their family as well as Christus St. Patrick's Hospice for all of their care.
