Thomas "Tom" Landon Woodward was a man of great mental independence and determination to live his life. Until the last few years, Tom actively participated in his art career. His love for art developed at an early age and it continued to be his passion. He loved privacy with nature and especially sunshine. Tom had the capacity to see and understand complexities that others often overlooked. He was known to sit outside with his face toward the sun absorbing the warmth that it provided. His devotion for his mother, Betty, was evident to all as they spent their time together enjoying special television shows, crossword puzzles, and teaming up to care for one another. Tom's sister, Kathy Gilmore, and brother, Mickey Woodward remained ever faithful to him during all the good times as well as the difficult times in his life. They will continue to cherish childhood memories. Through Tom's gift of organ donation may others receive the vision he was yet to receive and the clarity that escapes so many of us. In addition to leaving behind his family, he also leaves behind many beloved friends. His interment service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Consolata Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Dr. Michael Woodward and Jack Swarthout will lead the service.
