Thomas "Tommy" Jude Kilchrist

Thomas "Tommy" Jude Kilchrist, 51, of Lake Charles died at 1:00 AM on Sunday, July 12, 2015 in his residence. Tommy was born on April 6, 1964 in Lake Charles where he lived all of his life. He attended Sam Houston High School until entering into the US Marine Corps. Tommy was in the construction business as a carpenter building scaffolds. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed baseball. He was a devoted baseball dad for his sons during their years of playing. Tommy was blessed with the ability to love deeply and unconditionally which was shown in the way he loved his family and his actions toward them. He had a giving heart and and an unforgettable personality that made him one of a kind. Tommy will never be replaced and will be sincerely missed and always loved and adored. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife and the love of his life for 26 years, Yvonne "DeDe" LaBove of Bell City; three children, Jaime Irvin of Shreveport, Joshua LaBove of Bell City, and Jacob LaBove of Lake Charles; his parents, Sue and Jude Kilchrist of Moss Bluff; a sister, Daina Kilchrist and husband Charles Frank of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Karly LaFleur, Emerson and Addison Irvin, and Austin and Grady LaBove; two nieces; one nephew; one great niece and great nephew; and two uncles, Harry and Glenn McGee. He also leaves behind his beloved dog companion, Lucy. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ida and Thomas Kilchrist and maternal grandparents, Leely and Oza McGee. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 19, 2015 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Leo Hebert and Tommy's son, Jacob LaBove, will officiate. Visitation will begin on Saturday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Sunday from 10:00 AM until the start of the services.
