Timothy Harrison Helms

August 25, 1962 — September 9, 2021

Timothy Harrison Helms, 59, of Sweet Lake passed away on September  9, 2021 in a local hospital.

Tim was born on August 25, 1962 in Creole, Louisiana to Edmund Helms and Debbie LaBove (Helms) Lafosse. As a career, Tim was a welding inspector, which took him on various jobs throughout the United States. He made many lasting friendships with co-workers while traveling with his job. He enjoyed cooking, hunting, and watching his children playing sports. There was no such thing as a “free” weekend around his house.  There was always a project going on; something was always being remodeled or rebuilt on the farm. Tim was a member of Sweet Lake United Methodist and a member of Masonic Lodge 424.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 32 years, Pam Helms; sons Trent Helms, Tanner Helms, and Tate Helms; grandson Lane Helms; parents John and Debbie LaBove Lafosse; siblings, Sabrah Holland and husband Bob; Cheryl Rowan and husband Tommy; and Scott Helms along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Preceding Tim in death are his father, Edmund Helms; Maternal grandparents, Tan and Zilda Logue LaBove, paternal grandparents, Bully and Darles Beatrice Magehee Helms; and father and mother in law, Louis and Barbara Alleman.

The family will welcome and receive friends at University Baptist Church, 4505 Lake St., Lake Charles,  on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, beginning at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Visitation will resume Wednesday, September 15, 2021 beginning at 10:00 and continuing until the service at 11:00 AM at the church. The Rev. Dwayne Daigle will officiate. Burial will follow at the Sweet Lake/Grand Lake Community Cemetery.
