Timothy Joseph Moore, 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at home in Lake Charles, LA with his family by his side. He was born on February 10, 1940 in Lake Arthur, LA to Ozene and Lucille Labauve Moore.
He proudly served the United States Army 12th Battalion, stationed in Fort Jackson, SC where he was a Heavy Weapons Specialist. He retired after years of working as an expeditor in the plants. He was a devoted member of St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church and faithfully prayed his rosary daily. He loved to spend his time watching LSU sports and just spending time with his family. He will always be remembered as being a loving and compassionate husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Lisa Moore, Monica Moore, and Sheila Marcantel; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Moore of Lafayette; brother, Daniel Moore and wife Marie of Moss Bluff; grandchildren, Angela Bertrand, Brandon Moore and wife Tricia, Christopher Dickerson and husband Justin, Jessica Eaves and husband Jonathan, Megan Lyons and Matt Williams, and John Marcantel and wife Ashley; great grandchildren, Hayleigh Chargois and husband Blake, Logan Moore, Jace LeDoux, Alexa LeDoux, Michael LeDoux, Preston Dickerson, Kennedy Dickerson, Alexis Eaves and husband Layne, Raven Eaves, Carter Vincent, Elijah Lyons, Myles Williams, Matthew Navarre, Baylee Sonnier, and John Marcantel; great great-grandchildren, Mya LeDoux and Miliana Cano, all of Lake Charles.
He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-five years, Mildred Thibodeaux Moore; sons, Keith Moore and Brian Moore; daughter, Sharon Moore; parents, Lucille and Ozene Moore and sisters, Wanda Duhon and Lois Manuel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 16, 2024 in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Father Josh Page will serve as Celebrant. Interment services with Military honors will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake Street, Lake Charles, LA beginning Thursday evening at 4:00 PM, and continuing until 8:00 PM, with a Cursillo Rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday morning at 9:00 am and continue until leaving in procession to the church.
The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to all his doctors and the staff at Heart of Hospice and the entire medical team at Christus Ochsner St. Patrick Health System.
