Timothy Ray Cryer, Sr.

Timothy Ray Cryer, Sr., 71, passed away on January 27, 2024 in a local hospital.

He was born on January 28, 1952 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Thomas and Marjorie Gibson Cryer. He graduated from Sam Houston High school and worked at Olin for 33 years as an Operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved to joke around and always had a story. It has been said that he never met a stranger and always left a place with more family than when he arrived.

He is survived by his son, Tim Cryer (Kaley); daughter, Risa Dyson (John); stepdaughters, Amy Hedgecock (Shawn) and Chantelle Prejean (Elray); grandchildren, Briana Cryer, T J Cryer, Abigale Cryer, Allie Doucet, Megan McKinney, Brandon Dyson, Elija Hedgecock, Fynn Quebodeaux, Tanner Prejean, and Haydyn Prejean; and siblings, Danny Cryer (Cathleen), Gary Cryer (Darlene), Randy Cryer (Nicole), and Susan Welch.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Cryer; parents; and brothers, Johnny and Tommy Cryer.

A gathering of friends and family to celebrate his life will be held at the American Legion Post at 2510 Westwood Rd. in Westlake, Louisiana at 2:00 p.m. on February 10, 2024.
