Tom E. Stockman

November 12, 1938 — March 7, 2020

Tom Stockman, 81, was called to his heavenly home on March 7, 2020 following a brief illness.

Born in Coushatta, Louisiana to Thomas Edward and Lena Beatrice Edwards Stockman.  Tom was a 1956 graduate of Istrouma High School and received his Collage degree in Business.  He was proud to have served his country in the U. S. Army 4th Armored Division and reserves from 1957 until 1963.

Tom’s employment history consisted of years in the industrial maintenance and construction field and he retired as manager of Turner Industries after 25 years.  His employment took him to many states and a stint in Lithuania, which fueled his passion for travel.

Tom and his wife, Linda married in Hawaii in 1997.  He was an avid traveler and they enjoyed visiting many countries and cultures together. But, above all else, was his love for his Lord and Savior first, and his family.

He was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church. He thoroughly enjoyed his 4 mission trips to Bogota where he taught English and influenced students to the Kingdom of Christ.

He leaves to honor and cherish his memory, his wife of 22 years, Linda Roy Stockman; one son, Brad Stockman and wife Maria of Sugarland, TX; three daughters, Kim Stockman of Richmond, TX, Kandi Williams of Gonzales, LA and Ashley Foret and husband Andrew of Lake Charles, LA; brother, Donald Stockman and wife Kitty of Pierre Part, LA; grandchildren, Shane and wife Carla, Zarina, Ashley and husband Scott, Zachary, Jacob, Lucas and wife Cara, Nicholas, Victoria, Alex, Adele, Avery, and Alice; seven great-grandchildren, Chandler, Azul, Dylan, Emma, Liam, Emerson and Graham.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Larry, Patrick and Edward Joe Stockman.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at 11:00am on March 10, 2020 at Trinity Baptist Church under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Reverend Rick Ellis will officiate.  Entombment will be at Consolata Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the funeral home on March 9, 2020 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on March 10, 2020 at Trinity Baptist Church from 9:00am until the time of the service.

Memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project (www.support.woundedwarriorproject.org)

The family would like to express their grateful appreciation for the compassionate care given their beloved Tom to… Rick Ellis, Debbie T. Comeaux, Lori and Kevin Guillory, Trinity Baptist Church Family, Travis McManemin, Heart of Hospice and staff, Paula Myers, and Nancy Coffey.
