Tom "Wasp" Hobbs

January 30, 1977 — April 22, 2023

Tom Wasp Shane Hobbs was born January 30, 1977, in Oklahoma City, OK. He was the youngest child and only son of Thomas Lee and Bonnie Marie Hobbs.

He grew up in the Tampa, Florida area, graduating from Plant City High School, class of 1994. He loved spending time with his family; growing up, he and his sister were inseparable. His hobbies included fishing at Whiskey Stump and the Alafia River with his uncle John as well as playing D&D with friends. It was in his 20s he found his love of motorcycles, a love that never left him.

His love of family grew tremendously when he welcomed his two sons: Joey and TJ. He worked hard to provide them every opportunity and lived by example in teaching them to be independent men of principle. He was proud to see them grow up and live their lives, following their passions and dreams.

Following the attack on 9/11, and in 2003 Wasp answered the call to serve his country. He enlisted into the United States Army, serving in Iraq as a combat medic in the 101st Airborne Division. Following his deployment, he was medically retired, receiving an honorable discharge. Upon returning home he found solace in traveling; no where was off limits; his travels took him many places, including Belize.

His love of travel is what brought him to Louisiana, his love of food made him visit a while longer. He found the love and support that welcomed him as family with the Marauders MC and developed a special relationship with his brother Coolman, sisters Pixie & Fussy and special friend Diane. He finally felt he fit somewhere. He enjoyed cooking for the MC, and though his 24hr spaghetti left them questioning his choices in cuisine, his sheer joy of cooking for them made up for it. Tom had a sarcastic sense of humor and never missed an opportunity to point out the irony in life of the hilarity of it all.  He never met a stranger & many knew he was one they could confide & trust in.

He was his brothers keeper.

Although Louisiana was his home, it did not diminish the close relationship he had with his mother; her daily phone calls often interrupted his favorite past time-being eating. His mother was his best friend & and they ended each day with their special message to each other.

He was welcomed into Heaven by his uncle John, Smoke, Jamie and Omen.

Those left to cherish Wasps memory include his two sons, Joey & TJ Hobbs; his mother Bonnie Marie Reynolds; his father, Thomas Lee Hobbs Jr.; his sister, Stormy & husband Greg Bailey, nieces Victoria & Autumn; aunt Sharon & uncle Bill Conger, aunts Vera Hobbs & Alice Hobbs; his girlfriend, Morgan Beschta; lifelong friend Leona Steffen; and his Marauders MC brotherhood who is family

His mother’s message that they said to each other every day and for her son one last time,

Goodnight, Sweet Dreams, God Bless You and I Love You.
