Tommy H. Ivy

Tommy H Ivy, 54, of Longville passed away on Friday, November 9, 2012 in a local hospital.


Mr. Ivy was born on October 16, 1958 and was raised in Pineville and lived there until five years ago when he moved to Longville to be closer to his grandchildren. He was a graduate of Bolton High School in Alexandria. In his earlier years, he played baseball and still enjoyed the sport to this day. Mr. Ivy began his career as a meat cutter in high school at Winn Dixie before becoming market manager at Market Basket for several years.


He was a Diecast Car collector and enjoyed car shows. Mr. Ivy loved woodworking and being outdoors.


Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cynthia Cindy Ivy of Longville; two daughters, Amanda Richard and husband Jason of Moss Bluff, Nicole Ivy Maggard and husband Will of Virginia Beach, VA; four step children, Brandon Russell, and Tiffany, Mary Beth, and Brittany Jernigan; three sisters, Jewel Ekermeyer of Alexandria, Betty Palocsik of Georgia, and Alice Ducote of Pineville; a brother, Wayne Ivy of Pineville; four grandchildren, Trent, Trevor, and Trey Richard, and Kamden Maggard; and three step grandchildren, Elizabeth and Raylyn Sutter and Hunter Jernigan.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and Houston Ivy; a sister, Bobbie Pacheco; and two brothers, Sonny and Lloyd Ivy.


A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Chris Fuselier will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will begin on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the start of the service.
