Tony Garfield Perot, 70 of Lake Charles, LA passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior while surrounded by his family on February 8th 2021.
Tony was born to W.G. & Pearlie Marie Perot on August 26th 1950. Navy veteran W.G was stationed on the Island of Guam where Tony was born and given the moniker of Pearl’s little Guamaniac.
After returning stateside his family made their home in East Texas where Tony not only graduated from Bridge City High School but was class President. After graduation he moved to Lake Charles and enrolled in McNeese State University eventually graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Business. While at MSU Tony was a member of the business fraternity Delta Sigma Pi and social fraternity Kappa Alpha Order.
After graduation Tony began his career in the insurance industry with Franklin Life Insurance Company. Tony was invited to join Insurance Unlimited where he served as one of the Vice Presidents of the Company and had his own agency. During his career Tony was an annual qualifier for the “Million Dollar Round Table” as well as a Franklin Life Centurion.
Tony was known for his infectious smile, warm personality and his ability to connect to everyone he met. Tony had a passion for life and an unconditional love for family and friends. He was involved in many organizations and created the personality and voice of the original “Gumbeaux Gator” the “Goodwill Ambassador to Southwest Louisiana.”
He remained active in Kappa Alpha Order and played an integral role in the design, building and financing of the original KA mansion and is a standing member of the board of directors of KA. It was his continuous involvement and promotion within the KAPPA ALPHA Alumni that aided in fundraising and renovation of the mansion by the active order.
Tony supported MSU sports as a member of the Cowboy Club and his attendance at all MSU games. Tony enjoyed golf, dancing, live music and passing a good time with friends and family…LAISSEZ LES BON TEMPS ROULER!!
He was a member of St. Luke Simpson Methodist Church and on February 8th 2021 was welcomed into Heaven by his parents; W.G. “Joe” and Pearlie Marie Perot; a brother Barry Glen Perot and a nephew Ronnie Perot.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of forty years; Jennifer “Raindrop” Perot; a son, Adam K. (Sherri Harville) Veron; his grandchildren, Addysen Paige, Anna Rose, and Olivia Jolie Veron; sisters, Connie Delores (Dewey) Oxley and Bonnie Rene’ (Dale) Dillion, an uncle Richard Dale (Roylene) Fontenot; as well as his extended family which includes numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at University Baptist Church, February 16, 2021 beginning at 11am until time of service. Funeral Services led by Dr. John R. Black will begin at 3pm. Cremation has been entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers and in honor of Tony’s memory the family invites you to make a donation to McNeese Foundation-Kappa Alpha Projects Fund.
