Tracy Jerome Sonnier

Tracy Jerome Sonnier, 64, of Lake Charles, LA passed away at 7:30 AM on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, in his residence.

Mr. Sonnier was born on June 15, 1957, in Kinder, LA.  He was raised in Lake Charles, LA where he was a graduate of LaGrange High School.  He furthered his education at McNeese State University receiving a B.S. degree in Wildlife Management.  Following graduation, he began a career at Conoco and retired after more than 30 years as an operator. 

He enjoyed many things in life including hunting, fishing, gardening, and traveling.  Mr. Sonnier also enjoyed making new friends.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Thomas James Sonnier (Erin) of Reeves, Timothy Jason Sonnier of Lake Charles, and Jessica Rae Sonnier of Sulphur; a sister, Susan Singleton of Lake Charles; and grandchildren, Payton Sonnier and Nathan and Nevaeh Pitre.  He also leaves behind his loving companion of 19 years, Angelica.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mozelle Sonnier; and brothers, Ralph Douglas, and Guy Stephen Sonnier.

Funeral services, along with his mother’s services, will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, in Creel Memorial Chapel in Bel, LA at Camp Pearl.  The Rev. Glenn Ducharme will officiate.  Burial will follow in Creel Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin on Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the University Baptist Church and will resume in Creel Memorial Chapel on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
