Travis Nathan Richard

Travis Nathan Richard, 54, Frisco, TX passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 in Plano, TX.

Mr. Richard was born on March 16, 1964 in Lake Charles and grew up in Grand Lake before moving back to Lake Charles. He was a 1982 graduate of Barbe High School where he played basketball. Mr. Richard attended McNeese State University where he was an initiate of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He joined the US Navy in 1984 and later moved to the Dallas, TX area in 1990. Mr. Richard was a senior analyst for many different companies, most recently for NTT Data.

He was an avid sports fan and was LSU’s biggest fan as well as the Dallas Stars hockey team and had seasonal tickets. He also had interest in music, especially for classic rock and could often be found at rock concerts.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Jill Perkins of Frisco, TX; step son, Steven Perkins (Lisa) of Frisco, TX; step daughter, Andrea Yarbrough of Sanger, TX; parents, Roberta and Eldred Richard of Iowa; sister, Gaylin Vaughan (Andy “AJ”) of Sweetlake; a brother, Walt Richard (Cathy) of Grand Chenier; two step grandchildren, Justin and Nick Grisham; nieces and nephews, Justin Richard, Matthew Richard (Brittany), Buddy Miller (Courtney), Clint Miller (Taylor), Gina Droddy (Jason), Bryan Walker (Amber), and Jacob Vaughan; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elie and Nita Conner and Gilferd and Della Richard and an uncle, Ervin Richard.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 24, 2018 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Wayne LeBleu will officiate. Burial will follow in Sweetlake-Grand Lake Community Cemetery. Visitation will begin on Friday from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
