Trina Fay Mere Reed

Trina Fay Mere Reed, 72, of Lake Charles, LA died at 9:40 PM on Friday, August 1, 2014 in Cypress, TX. Ms. Reed was born December 12, 1941 in Lake Charles, LA, where she was a life-long resident. She was a 1959 graduate of LaGrange High School and received her Associates Degree as a Legal Secretary. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and sewing and always shared her works with those she loved. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, puzzles, and was an animal lover. Ms. Reed was very supportive of her children and grandchildren and was active in all of their activities. She loved her family and will be missed dearly. Ms. Reed is survived by her children, Deidra Wooten and husband Robert of Frisco, TX, Regina Darbonne of Lake Charles, Shawn Goodeaux and husband Clint of Westlake, LA, Derrick Reed and wife Stephanie of Lake Charles, Vanda Simon and husband Woodley of Houston, TX, Michelle Granger and husband Sconnie of LeBleu Settlement, LA, Kevin Reed of Moss Bluff, and Ruben Reed and wife Michele of Sulphur; and their father, Dean Reed and wife Jan of Lake Charles; son-in-law, David Fults of Moss Bluff; brother, Robert Mere and wife Ree of Carencro, LA; sister, Susie Bourque of Lake Charles; twenty-six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kendra Fults; parents, Ova and Mildred Mere; and her grandson, Nicholas Wooten. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Jay Alexius will officiate. Burial will follow in Consolata Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the start of the service with a rosary at 1:00 PM.
