Troy Allen Silfee

August 16, 1975 — February 28, 2022

Troy Allen Silfee, 46, of Grand Lake entered into eternal rest Monday February 28, 2022.

Troy was a native East Stroudsburg, PA where he was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School.  Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the United States Army serving in Reconnaissance and Surveillance.  While stationed at Fort Polk, he met and later married his true love.  Once planning to start a family, Troy began his career in the Oil Industry. He worked ten years running a crew as an operator. He was also a talented carpentry craftsman and in 2005, following the devastation of Hurricane Rita, he founded his business building custom cabinets throughout Southwest Louisiana. His works of creativity and perfectionism earned him a well-respected name to all he built for. He also created signature pieces of beds, bookshelves, fireplaces and gun cabinets for his family and friends. He worked his latest years back in the Oil Industry as a Cross Functional Technician for Kinetica Oil. Troy was an avid outdoorsman as he enjoyed fishing, duck and deer hunting, hiking and loved outdoor cooking, lamb chops and tomahawk steaks being his specialty. Amongst his favorite adventures were those spent vacationing with his family for visits back home to Pennsylvania, beach trips and mountain hiking. His passion was collecting and customizing guns. Troy was a great provider and protector, a man of tough exterior with a kind, generous heart who never hesitated to help others.

He leaves to honor his memory, his former wife of twenty-five years and friend, Cindy Young Silfee of Grand Lake; two sons, Taylor Stephen Silfee and Travis Wade Silfee, both of Grand Lake; parents, Roy Roger Silfee and Linda Kishbaugh Silfee of Kingsley, PA; two brothers, Victor Gromadin Silfee of Carbondale, PA and Joseph Silfee (Lauren) of Saylorsburg, PA and Godchild, Parker Zoey Silfee of Saylorsburg, PA.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
