Troy Neal Ritter

Troy Neal Ritter, 61, was born on September 10, 1951, in Sulphur, LA. Troy passed away in a local hospital on September 8, 2013 after a brief illness surrounded by his family and friends. He attended Sulphur High School and graduated from LSU with a degree in secondary education. Troy had a passion for teaching students and loved the years he spent in his classroom. He was an avid gardener, love to cook and loved the Christmas season. Spending time with family and friends brought him joy. Troy retired from the Lafayette Parish School System and returned home to Carlyss. LA. He spent hours with friends and family in his flower garden and kept company with his parrot, Murphy, and his dog, Neubis. Troy was raised by his sister, Betty Jo Yellott and husband, Junior Junebug Yellott with siblings, Glenn, Dorothy, Cathy, Melinda, Royce, Dewain and Karla Yellott. He is survived by his sister, Sharon Guidry and husband, Don of Sulphur, LA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Josephine Vincent Ritter; brothers, Kinsey, Shelby, Kirby and Floyd Ritter; sisters, Melba Leger, Frankie Dubois and Betty Jo Yellott. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at10 a.m.at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Rev. Harlan Morgan officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September10, 2013 from4-9 p.m. and will resume on Wednesday at 8a.m.until time of the service. The family would like to thank the staff at Cal-Cam Hospital and the nursing staff of the ICU Unit.
