Ufford Burns Hoffpauir

Ufford "Hoff" Hoffpauir, 91, of Lake Charles, died Saturday October 25, 2014 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Hoffpauir was born on September 20, 1923 in Indian Bayou to James E. and Fadra Morgan Hoffpauir. After completing his education, he enlisted in the Army Air Corps. He honorably served our country and, during his service in World War II, walked in 11 countries. After retiring from the oil fields for many years following his military service, he purchased Precision Tools in Lake Charles. He once again retired from the machine shop business and drove for over 10 years for Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Hoff was a Christian by faith and attended Heritage Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents, and his first wife, Pearl Primeaux Hoffpauir and two brothers, Elwood and Macon Hoffpauir. He leaves to honor and cherish his memories, his wife Mary Hoffpauir; children, Marcia Newton and husband David, Susan E. Hoffpauir, and Karen Daigle and husband Mervin, all of Lake Charles; step children, Diane Fruge and husband Mike, Westlake; Cay Duhon and husband Farrell, and Patrick Parish and wife Sandy; both of Lake Charles; four grandchildren; thirteen step grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and twenty six step grandchildren; siblings, Almeda LeDoux, Indian Bayou; Margie Walsh, Baton Rouge; Huey Hoffpauir, Baldwin; Nell Savoy and husband John, Indian Bayou; Richard Hoffpauir, Nederland, TX; Sheldon Hoffpauir and wife Sylvia, Indian Bayou; Weldon Hoffpauir and wife Dean, Lake Charles; and E.C. Hoffpauir and wife Falice, Indian Bayou; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be at Johnson Funeral Home from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Johnson Funeral Home on Monday October 27. Visitation will resume from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM Tuesday at Indian Bayou United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday. Burial, with military honors, will follow at the Indian Bayou Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his memory to Indian Bayou United Methodist Church.
