Ursula Konig Broussard, 82, of Lake Charles, passed away on January 1, 2024 at the Southwest Louisiana War Veterans Home in Jennings, LA. A native of Germany, Ursula was born on October 2, 1941, in Karlsruhe, Germany to Wilhelm and Frieda Konig.
Ursula and C.J met in Knielegen Germany where he was stationed in 1959 while he was studying German and she English. They fell in love and raised their daughters settling in Lake Charles when he retired from his career in the US Army. Once their girls were grown and gone, Ursula went back to school and earned her Masters Degree as a Clinical Social worker at LSU. She retired from her successful private practice, Counseling Plus in 2006. She had deep faith in the Lord and was known to have a wonderful smile, generous laugh and loved to tell everyone that she loved them and that Jesus loved them too. She delighted in her grand children, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 62 years, Carroll James “C.J.” Broussard, two daughters; Bianca Gracia Brooks, Vanadis Jeanette Fowler and her husband Chris, two sisters; Lillie Woerner, Maria Ruth Hawkins, one brother; Wilhelm “Willie” Konig, 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
A time of visitation will be Sunday, January 7, 2024 from 3:00PM until 6:00PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 4321 Lake St. Lake Charles, LA. 70605. Funeral services will take place at 10:00AM on Monday, January 8, 2024 also at Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at 12:30PM at the Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings, LA.
