She was the Hotel Chain Manager for Stratford House Inn in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and in Monroe, Louisiana for fifteen years, retiring in 1996, when she moved with her family to Lake Charles.

Mrs. Selfridge is survived by her three sons, Jim Selfridge and wife Carol, Phil Selfridge and wife Sandy, and Mike Selfridge and wife Carolyn, all of Lake Charles; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of thirty-eight years, James Thomas Selfridge, Jr.; two sisters, Melba Matherly and Jan Prescott; and an infant brother.
