Vada Karlene Morris

Vada Karlene Morris, 67, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday June 15, 2016 at a local health care facility from a brief illness.

Karlene was born in Lake Charles, LA. on March 6, 1949, to Virgil William and Mary Ann Talbott. She had many loves in her life, that included spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, fishing and cooking.

She loved to teach and spent 37 years teaching special needs children in Beauregard, Vernon and Calcasieu Parishes. Karlene was a great woman of faith. She was a graduate from Sam Houston High School and McNeese State University.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Michael John Morris; father, Virgil William Talbott; 2 brothers, Jody Herbert and William Lyle Talbott.

Those left to mourn her loss and cherish her memories are her husband, Donald Ray “Don” Warren; son, Kevin (Sherrie) Morris; 2 daughters, Kellie Morris Carroll and Karra (Eric) Morris Dronette; Mother, Mary Ann Racca Talbott; 6 step-children, Ava Marie Pelc, Monica Jean Pelc, Donald R. Warren II, Rebecca Warren, Suzanna Mary Warren and Michael David Warren; brother, Rudy Talbott; 4 grandchildren, Austin Carroll, Ethan Dronette, Kallen Dronette and Kenzie Morris; 1 great grandchild, Lucy Fugatt.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11AM Monday June 20, 2016 at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Bro. Michael Shamblin officiating. Interment to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Woodlawn, LA. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday June 19, 2016 at Johnson Funeral Home from 2PM till 8PM and again on Monday, at the church, from 9AM till time of service.
