Veda "Kye" Domingue, 97, of Lake Charles, LA died at 8:40 PM on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 in a local hospital. Ms. Domingue was born October 29, 1916 in Creole, LA and lived all of her life in Cameron Parish. For over forty years, she was the owner / operator of Domingue Grocery, where she had the coldest Cokes in town. She was a dedicated worker and would often be seen loading 100 pound sacks of feed. She was a loyal member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Ms. Domingue is survived by a niece, Patricia Vaughan and husband Harvey, Sr. of Sulphur; nephew, Robert C. Domingue and wife Suzanne Kennedy; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Ida Nunez Domingue; brothers, Randolph Domingue, Enos Domingue, and Dallas Domingue; and a sister, Eunice Domingue Cohen. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Creole, LA. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a rosary at 5:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
