Velma Lee Reese Richard

Velma Lee Reese Richard, 80, of Westlake passed away on Monday, January 25, 2020 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Richard was born on May 12, 1940 in Bartlesville, OK. 

She will be remembered for her giving heart, always willing to help others.  Mrs. Richard was an avid baker and loved to cook for her church friends and family.  She was a member of Eastwood Pentecostal Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Alfred J. “Boe” Richard of Westlake; sons, William Henry “Bill” Cannon (Penny) of Lake Charles and Shawn Clinton Richard (Rebecca) of Westlake; and several nieces and nephews.  She also leaves behind her furry companion, Duke.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Velma and William Reese; twin sister, Verna M. Madore; sisters, Ada Lorene Roche and Jane A. Dillon; and brother, Clarence Murray.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, February 8, 2021 at Eastwood Pentecostal Church.  The Rev. Aaron Lopez will officiate.  Burial will follow in Old Ritchie Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will begin in the church on Monday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
