Vera Ann Burleson, 71 passed away on November 8, 2012 in Vidor, TX. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 12, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Robison Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Doug Cain officiating. Burial will be in Duhon-Burleson Cemetery in Lake Charles under the direction of Robison Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 5-9 p.m. at Robison Funeral Home and will resume on Monday at 8 a.m. until time of service. Vera was a native of Hackberry and a long-time Sulphur resident. After high school she pursued a career in Nursing; which she later gave up to take care of her beloved Kase Allen. Vera was a faithful member of Henning United Methodist Church where she was active in the Mustard Seed Group. Vera is survived by her sister-in-law, Lyndia Portie of Vidor; two nieces, Mary Burleson Klump and husband, Gene of Brooklyn, NY and Sheila Garrett and husband, Danny of Vidor, TX; five nephews, Clay Cain Sr. and wife, Dr. Elizabeth Cain of Amite City, LA, Jud Cain and wife, Guadalupe of Sulphur, Lewis Cain Jr. and wife, Karen of Sulphur, Leland Thomas Portie and wife, Monica of Mauriceville, TX and Lee Alan Portie of Vidor, TX; and a host of great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Burleson and son, Kase Allen Burleson.
