Vera Guidry Coe, 87, of Lake Charles, LA died Monday, March 2, 2015 in a local care facility. Vera was born on April 2, 1927 in Cameron Parish, LA to Tellis and Azema Guidry. Vera was the director of Wesley Foundation Methodist Student Center at McNeese approximately from 1970 to 1990. She enjoyed being around family and friends, traveling the world, and gardening. She is survived by three loving daughters, Marilyn Hocking and husband Michael of Ridgefield, WA, Diane Thibodeaux and husband Belton Jr. of Lake Charles, LA, and Cynthia Burbach and husband Erv of Sunset, SC; one daughter-in-law, Dana Landry Coe, of Lake Charles, LA; nine grandchildren, Jess, Hannah, Courtney, Melanie, John Daniel, Ashley, Lauren, Jordan, and Andrew; six great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Lucille Craft Guidry of Ragley, LA; four nephews; one niece; and the father of her children, Robert Coe. She is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robby Coe; and two brothers, Clifford Guidry and LeRoy Guidry. Services will be at 1:30 PM Thursday, March 5, 2015 at University United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM March 4, 2015 at Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will resume at 10:00 AM until 1:30 PM March 5, 2015 at University United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Prien Memorial Park. Rev. Charlie Langford and Rev. Jeremy Jones will officiate service. The family would like to thank the Staff at Emeritus Senior Living for their compassionate care.
