Vergie Comeaux

Mary Vergie Trim Comeaux, 82, was called to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 03, 2012 with her children at her side. Born in Abbeville, Louisiana to Fernest and Louise Trim, Mrs. Comeaux grew up in Abbeville, but lived most of her life in Lake Charles. She was a homemaker and raised her seven children in the home on Seventh Street which she shared with her family for forty-seven years. She had a huge heart and touched many people during her life. The doors of her family home welcomed many, both family and friends, over the years. She was a member of St. Margaret Catholic Church.


She is survived by sons, Charles Comeaux, Jr. and wife Tina of Beaumont, Texas and Christopher Comeaux and wife Susan of Birmingham, Alabama; daughters Catherine Cowie, Carla Comeaux and Constance Mortimer and husband John, all of Lake Charles, and Celeste Broussard and husband Blaine of Iowa; fifteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; brother, Steve Trim of Lake Charles; and sisters Isabelle Newman, also of Lake Charles, and Cis Occhiogrosso of Westlake.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Charles Comeaux, Sr., daughter Carolyn Comeaux, grandson, Jordan Comeaux, son-in-law, John Cowie; and sister, JoAnn Fontenot.


A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 6, 2012 in the funeral home chapel. Deacon Dan Landry will officiate. Cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary being recited at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until the start of the service.
