Verner C. Young

Verner C. Young, 82, of Lake Charles passed away, Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in a local care facility.

Mr. Young was born in Tyler, Texas and was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles. . He worked for years as a paint contractor and later as an operator for Himont. He enjoyed hunting and fishing while spending time at his camp. He had a great passion for working on his timber property and growing amaryllis. Mr. Young will be most remembered for his love for his family.

Those to cherish his memory include one daughter, Sandy Steffens and husband Mark; one son, Ray Young; two grandchildren, Hollie Donnelly and husband Trevor and Sara Walters and husband Jeremy; four great-grandchildren, Cameron and Natalie Walters and Maggie and Allie Donnelly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Nannie Young; and loving wife of 61 years Marie Boudoin Young.

Funeral services will be at 1PM Friday, December 28, 2012 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chris Fuselier will officiate. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10AM until time of services in the funeral home.
