Vickie Darlene Gibson

Vickie Darlene Gibson, peacefully passed away on September 27, 2023, at the lake house in Toledo Bend, Louisiana.

Vickie was born on September 20, 1954, in Port Arthur, TX and traveled all over the world to places such as Saudi Arabia, India, and Nepal before settling in Sulphur, Louisiana.

Vickie is survived by her beloved husband, Don Gibson, who stood by her side throughout their life together. She is survived by her sister Sandy Enyedi (Klaus), Linda Leavenworth (Brett), and brother Eddie Mericle (Laura). Vickie was a loving and dedicated mother to her children Alicia Farber (Cary), Kevin Hulett (Christina), Lindsey Hulett, and Eric Benoit. She was a proud grandmother to Owen Farber, Mason Ducotey, Olivia Farber, Lilian Hulett, Alex Hulett, Maya Hulett, and Ember Benoit.

Vickie was preceded in death by her mother Gillie Mericle, father, Marion Mericle, and son, Drew Gibson. She was also preceded by her brother, Randy Mericle.

Vickie will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family and friends.  She touched the lives of those around her and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held in honor of Vickie’s life on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home in Sulphur, LA.  Visitation will start at 12:00 PM on October 3, 2023. The family kindly requests in lieu of flowers please donate to the American Cancer Society or you may make a donation to assist with arrangement expenses.
