Vickie Elaine Benoit

Vickie Elaine Benoit, 67, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family on Friday, June 24, 2022.

She was born on January 16, 1955 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Richard Paul and Leitha Elaine Dixon. She enjoyed spending time with her family and listening to gospel hymns.  She will be remembered as an excellent cook who loved preparing meals for her family and for knowing what she wanted and being strong and determined.

She is survived by her children, Gerald Benoit, Jr., Allen Benoit, Brandon Benoit (Ida), Latisha Soileau (Matthew), and Maddison Benoit; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Sandra Higginbotham (Johnny), Mark Dixon (Barbara), and James Dixon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Gerald Benoit, Sr.; son, Brian Joseph Benoit; parents; and siblings, Glenda Chesson, Steven Dixon, Diane Dixon, and Carolyn Amy.

Her funeral service will be held at Johnson Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 11 a.m. Rev. Willie Bellard will officiate. Burial will follow the service in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the start of the service.
