Vida Guillory

A graveside service will be held at Prien Memorial Park, 2220 Country Club Road, Lake Charles, on Saturday, June 13 at 10:00 am for Mrs. Vida Doucet Guillory of Lake Charles who passed away on Friday, June 5, 2015. An internment will follow under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Vida was born on September 2, 1929 in Devers, Texas. She resided in Eunice, Louisiana for most of her childhood and after marriage became a resident of Lake Charles. She adored her children but her greatest honor was being called Maw Maw. Anyone who knew Vida had seen multiple pictures of her grandchildren. She relished in their accomplishments and cherished every moment she spent with them. Those who knew Vida loved her quick wit and giving heart. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Willie Burke Guillory, her two daughters, Sue Melton and husband, BG(R) Clayton Melton of Aledo, TX and Leann Martin and husband BG Joe Martin of Fort Irwin, CA; son, Darrell Guillory of Seagoville; three grandchildren, Tammie Waitley of Frisco, TX, Kylie Martin of Fort Worth, TX, and Joey Martin of St. Charles, MO; two great grandchildren, Sydney Waitley and Jackson Waitley and two sisters, Mabel Leviner of Lake Charles and Sybil Soileau of Moss Bluff. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Joseph Doucet and Clementine Matte; six siblings: Dennis Doucet, Sidney Doucet, Jr., Preston Doucet, Behrman Doucet, Viola Nearhood and Nelson Doucet.
